Researching a narrow pre-broadcast JSON-RPC safety layer for agent wallets that already sign locally. Behavior: simulate `eth_sendRawTransaction` → abort only definite reverts (`-32080` + decoded reason) → fail-open when uncertain.

Research direction

The issue names no AgentKit file, test, or entry point. Start by reviewing the linked l2-safety-proxy repository and docs/DEMO.md, then compare its simulation behavior with the listed Tenderly, eth_simulateV1, and estimateGas workflows. Done would require a concrete, accepted scope for an AgentKit change; the issue currently asks research questions rather than specifying one.

Description

Researching a narrow pre-broadcast JSON-RPC safety layer for agent wallets that already sign locally.

Behavior: simulate eth_sendRawTransaction → abort only definite reverts (-32080 + decoded reason) → fail-open when uncertain. No key custody. Not an RPC replacement.

Questions, not a pitch:

  1. How often do failed L2 sends create support, gas waste, or agent-loop retries for AgentKit users?
  2. Do you already cover this with Tenderly / eth_simulateV1 / estimateGas, and which workflow?
  3. Would a self-hosted middleware in front of an existing RPC be useful, or is this already solved upstream?

Happy with a short “not a fit.” Not asking for endorsement or a partnership.
