Research direction

Start by reading Sources/Fluid/Services/CommandModeService.swift, especially the predefined prompt around lines 724–803, and compare how Prompt Profiles handles Dictation and Edit Mode in the settings menu. Done means users can customize the Command Mode prompt, with the predefined prompt available as an initial template and fallback.

Description

enhancement

Is your feature request related to a problem?
The general system prompt for Command Mode works quite well. However, it may not exactly match the user’s individual preferences.

Examples from my own setup:

  • I don’t want new programmes or packages to be installed in this mode, e.g. via brew (the agent tends to do this when it needs an additional CLI tool for a task)
  • I don’t use iMessage on my system to write messages
  • I would like the agent to ask for permission to do edits/changes on my system instead of the current YOLO mode

Describe the solution you'd like
It is already possible to set custom prompts for Dictation and Edit Mode in the settings menu in AI Enhancements > Prompts & Advanced > Prompt Profiles > + Add Prompt. It would therefore only be logical to implement this for Command Mode as well. The predefined system prompt could serve as an initial template (and fallback).

Describe alternatives you've considered
Forking the repository and changing the predefined prompt in CommandModeService.swift. But that seems a bit too much.
