Research direction

Start by reading src/components/ui/TableToolbar.tsx, src/pages/Editor.tsx and src/types/editor.ts to trace how refresh, tab state and query status are handled. Check src/hooks/ and the existing hook tests for patterns, then add fake-timer tests for the new hook. Done means the interval options and active state work, refreshes respect the listed skip conditions without overlap, and the timer stops for inactive or closed tabs.

Description

feature request help wanted
🚀 Feature Proposal

Add an auto-refresh option to table tabs: re-run the current table query every 5 / 10 / 30 / 60 seconds.

Motivation

Watching a queue, a log table or a job table fill up currently means pressing refresh over and over.

Where to start
  • src/components/ui/TableToolbar.tsx: a small dropdown next to the refresh action, with a visible "active" state.
  • src/hooks/: a useAutoRefresh(intervalMs, enabled, callback) hook that calls the existing handleRefresh in src/pages/Editor.tsx.
  • Keep the interval per tab (src/types/editor.ts) or local to the toolbar.
Acceptance criteria
  • Options: Off / 5s / 10s / 30s / 60s; the active interval is visible in the toolbar.
  • Refresh is skipped while there are pending edits, inserts or deletes, while a cell is being edited, or while a query is still running; requests never overlap.
  • The timer stops when the tab is closed or not active.
  • Current page, sort, filter and scroll position are preserved.
  • Unit tests for the hook (fake timers).
Contributor notes
  • Follow the repo rules in .rules/ (TypeScript, React, design tokens, accessibility, testing).
  • Any new UI string needs a key in every locale under src/i18n/locales/.
  • Run pnpm lint, pnpm typecheck and pnpm test before opening the PR.
