Research direction

Read the version parsing and git hash suffix handling in the CLI entry points; the issue does not name a file or test. Check how versionTag is parsed when a workflow omits its version, then run the relevant version tests. Done means a git hash gets the 1.0 default only when no version was specified, with the suffix appended as described.

Description

task

Purpose

Ensure versionTag is defined and defaulting to 1.0 when using git hash.

Scope

  • Apply default 1.0 version when git hash is being specified.

Details

The versionTag should not be set unless necessary.
It is necessary if the workflow does not specify a version and the git hash version tag is being used.

Example implementation:

  if (suffix) {
    if (!parsed.versionTag) {
      parsed.versionTag = "1.0";
    }

    parsed.versionTag += `-${suffix}`;
  }
