Research direction
Start by reading the listFeatures and getFeatureExamples tool handlers and the library data they search; the issue identifies the lookup by root as the source of the Java/Kotlin collision. Check how the input schema’s accepted libraryId values map to library entries, then run or add a regression test for both Android and server Kotlin examples. Done means every accepted library ID resolves and the Kotlin requests return Kotlin examples.

Description
👟 Reproduction steps
- Connect to the docs MCP server and call
tools/list. ThelistFeaturesdescription lists bothAndroid - Java (ID: client-android)andAndroid - Kotlin (ID: client-android), and bothKotlin - JavaandKotlin - Kotlinasserver-kotlin. - Call
getFeatureExampleswith{"libraryId":"client-android","feature":"account"}. - Call
listFeatureswith{"libraryId":"client-android-kotlin"}. This value is in the tool's input enum.
👍 Expected behavior
There is a way to get the Kotlin examples for Android and for the server Kotlin SDK. Every libraryId the schema accepts resolves to a library.
👎 Actual Behavior
- Step 2 always returns
Reference: Android - Java / account, i.e. Java code. The Kotlin variant can't be reached because both variants shareroot: "client-android"and the tools look the library up withlibrariesWithFeatures.find((l) => l.root === input.libraryId), which returns the first (Java) entry.server-kotlinhas the same problem. - Step 3 returns
Internal Server Error: Could not fetch features for library "client-android-kotlin".client-android-javabehaves the same way.
So anyone asking for Kotlin examples (the default language for Android) gets Java code.
