Research direction

Start in TranscriptReview.swift around lines 89-94, where a single SwiftUI Text with textSelection is recreated through .id(version) on each wording switch, then read LiveVoiceTranscriptView.swift to see how the app already wraps a read-only NSTextView. Replace the Text with a similar representable that swaps its string on switch, keeping Copy and Export unchanged. Done means the gallery's real-sheet pass with 1,200 turns shows the string matching the export, opening within baseline plus 400 ms, and Escape and Return closing only the review.

Description

bug

Outcome: Review transcript opens a 1–2 hour two-sided meeting at once, and switching wording does not rebuild the view.

Evidence (main edc15df)
  • TranscriptReview.swift:89-91 renders one SwiftUI Text(...).textSelection(.enabled).
  • :94 .id(version) recreates that view on every wording switch.
  • It is reached from Home (HomeTiles.swift:132), Meetings (MeetingWorkspaceView.swift:96) and History (CaptureHistoryView.swift:129).
  • Offscreen replica measurements:
    • extra open time is about 450 ms at 56k characters and about 2 s at 112k;
    • a switch takes 1.1 s at 112k;
    • a read-only NSTextView lays out the same text in 4–8 ms.
  • Meetings already uses an NSTextView (LiveVoiceTranscriptView.swift).
Change
  • Use a read-only, selectable NSTextView representable with the same font, 3 pt line spacing and 600 pt measure.
  • Replace the string on switch.
  • Show capture notes above the text.
  • Adapt the gallery guard.
  • Copy and Export are unchanged.
Acceptance

In the gallery's real-sheet pass with 1,200 turns:

  • the string equals the export;
  • opening takes less than the baseline plus 400 ms;
  • a switch reuses the same view within 150 ms;
  • the selection copies exactly;
  • Escape and Return close only the review.
Value before scope
  1. Outcome: no hitch on the meeting review path. Evidence: the measurements.
  2. Simpler route: the native text view already used elsewhere in the app.
  3. Owner: TranscriptReviewView.
  4. Complexity: one representable.
  5. Verified by: the gallery.

Grammar: Quality.
