Research direction

Start by running the attached ui-fail reproduction project in Sway and compare changing fullscreen through the in-game button with window-manager hotkeys. Trace the engine's window-mode and resize handling for the Wayland and Xwayland paths; done means control nodes resize and reposition correctly when the engine changes from fullscreen to windowed.

Description

bug needs testing platform:linuxbsd
Tested versions

Reproducible in 26.3 beta 1

System information

Any Linux distro running Sway WM - affects wayland and xwayland

Issue description

When the game window's mode changes from fullscreen to windowed, control nodes do not adjust to the new size of the window. This only occurs when Redot changes the window mode. It doesn't affect other applications and does not happen if the window manager itself triggers the change.

Steps to reproduce

Open the MRP in Sway with at least one other tile open on the same workspace. Try changing the window mode with the button in the center of the screen. Compare to changing the window in and out of fullscreen using window manager hotkeys.
