Research direction

The report attributes the softlock to an IBus 1.5.29-rc2 regression and says it was fixed in 1.5.30. First check the installed IBus version, desktop environment, and distribution; the issue does not name a code entry point or test to run. Done means dead-key input no longer softlocks the script editor; if it persists after changing IBus versions, the report asks for a new bug report with those environment details.
