Research direction

Start by locating the run record and its current string-valued circuitCid field, then read dependency #49 and coordinate the field names with #4. Implement the run-to-circuit link using @helia/dag-json while preserving reads of old records. Add round-trip and root-CID traversal tests; done when new runs resolve their circuit through the link and old records still open.

Description

enhancement helia storage tier-2

Summary

Turn circuitCid into a real IPLD link so one root CID covers a run and its circuit.

Estimated size: M

Motivation

This is the first step toward the provenance DAG: a single CID that attests the whole experiment.

Current state in this repo

  • The run record has a plain string circuitCid field.

Proposal

  • Use @helia/dag-json to encode runs with a CID link to the circuit record.
  • Keep reading old string-valued records.
  • Align field names with the provenance bundle (#4) so the two formats do not diverge.

Acceptance criteria

  • A new run record resolves its circuit through the link.
  • Old records still open.
  • A test traverses run to circuit from the root CID.

Dependencies

  • #49
  • Coordinate with #4 (provenance bundles).

Testing plan

  • Round-trip encode and traverse tests.

Part of #43. Ground rules for the content layer: no secrets in the repo, content-layer failures must never block or discard quantum execution, and tests and docs ship with every PR.
