Research direction

Start with parent issue #9 for the design and open questions, then trace RemovePairedPhone and ClearPairedPhones through the BLE stack, BondStore, and controller lists. Check how REMOTE_USER_TERMINATED_CONN is handled during the pairing window and where max_bonded_phones is enforced. Done means phone removal clears the real bond, a normal disconnect preserves it, and the BLE bond limit is enforced.

Description

Part of https://github.com/OpenCarControls/firmware/issues/9, which has the design and open questions.

  • RemovePairedPhone / ClearPairedPhones remove the real bond (stack, BondStore, controller lists); drop the separate registry or make it the source of truth.
  • A normal disconnect (REMOTE_USER_TERMINATED_CONN) during the pairing window must not wipe the bond.
  • Enforce max_bonded_phones on BLE bonds.
