Research direction

Start by tracing how the macOS app positions the toolbar near the dock and where ToolbarY is read from or written to opencpn.ini; the issue does not name the relevant files or tests. Reproduce by opening the app with the toolbar touching the dock, then move it away and observe the 48px jump. Done when the toolbar no longer jumps or changes its saved position unexpectedly.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

bug

Describe the bug
After opening the app the toolbar appears in the initial position, then recalculates and jumps down by 48px when is touching the dock on the left. On quit it updates ToolbarY with new value in opencpn.ini.

It goes back to initial position when moved away.

Expected behavior
A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.
