Research direction

Read src/platform/windows/shared/generic_pid_protocol.hpp and the linked HIDMaestro LICENSE, then inspect how LICENSES/ files are included in the driver MSI. Add the copyright line and MIT permission notice to LICENSES/ and the MSI-installed license files. Done when both executables' distributed MSI includes the notice alongside the existing licenses.

Description

@ReenigneArcher Hello again, and thank you for the mention back in #27. src/platform/windows/shared/generic_pid_protocol.hpp carries HIDMaestro's MinimumViablePidFfbBlock byte for byte, and its comment rightly calls the block MIT-licensed. The v2026.1022.2339.24 driver MSI ships it inside gamepad_adapter.exe and virtualhid_control.exe.

One small request. MIT asks that the copyright line and permission notice travel with copies, and the MSI installs only MIT.md (LizardByte's) and LicenseRef-LizardByte-SAL-1.0.md. LICENSES/ has no HIDMaestro text either. Adding HIDMaestro's LICENSE, with its Copyright (c) 2026 HIDMaestro Contributors line and the MIT permission text, to LICENSES/ and to the license files the MSI installs would cover it.

No rush, and glad the block works for you.
