Research direction

Find the General settings XAML for the “Presets and toolbars” card and the 20 language files; the issue does not name their paths. Start by checking nearby settings cards and existing strings for layout and translation conventions. Add the three descriptions and footer, and use the existing upload, download, and undo icons; done when the card explains each action and its reset scope in every language, with no behavior changes.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

What is the problem?

The "Presets and toolbars" card on Settings > General has only three buttons (Export…, Import…, Reset to defaults) and no text. A new user can't tell what they do. For example, it's not clear that "Reset to defaults" only resets presets and toolbars, and does not reset the app's other settings.

What I'd like to do

Split the card into three equal sections, one per button. Each section gets an icon, the button and a short description:

  • Export… (icon: upload): "Save your presets and toolbars to a file, for a backup or to share."
  • Import… (icon: download): "Add presets and toolbars from a file. Copies you already have are replaced."
  • Reset to defaults (icon: undo, red text): "Replace all your presets and toolbars with the built-in ones."

A small footer line would say: "Your other settings are not changed."

The icons are already in Styles/Icons.axaml (Icon.Upload, Icon.Download, Icon.Undo), so no new assets are needed. No behaviour changes, only XAML and new strings in the 20 language files.

Which layout do you prefer? I made three mockups (light and dark, attached below):

  • A. Tiles: one card, three tinted tiles inside, each with an icon badge, the description and a full-width button.
  • B. Three cards: three separate cards side by side with a round icon on top and centred text. The most prominent, but also the tallest.
  • C. Divided columns: one card with three columns split by thin lines, button first and the description under it. The lightest one.

My own pick would be C because it is closest to the other settings cards, but I'm happy to build whichever you prefer, or without the footer line or the red Reset.

Translations

Each layout needs 4 new strings (3 descriptions + the footer) in every language file.
