Research direction

Start with App.axaml and the Settings dropdown to see how the Borealis and Light themes are defined and selected. Then inspect how the Borea data folder and app-preferences.json are handled; the issue does not name specific files for custom-theme loading or tests. Done means adding built-in themes and file-based themes with per-value Borealis fallbacks and logging, and handling the legacy customThemes key.

Description

area:app
what

The App has two built-in themes, Borealis and Light, in App.axaml, and the Settings dropdown lists only those.
@PlazmaBoltz wants more themes before the first public release (Discord, 2026-09-16).
An old customThemes list can still be in app-preferences.json from earlier builds, but no code reads it.

Today Should be
Two themes. More built-in themes, each a set of the existing color tokens, so every page follows without a change.
A theme of your own from a file in the Borea data folder, with the same tokens. A file with a missing or broken value falls back to Borealis for that value and says so in the log.
The old customThemes key is read once and moved to the new form, or dropped.
