Description
Found by the blind critic on the #1275 consumer_acceptance shrink (round 3, c98a743). It is pre-existing: the old harness at 88ba928 also PASSes.
Problem. Tidepool's Makefile defines EIG := $(EIGS_DIR)/src/eigenscript (line 16), rebuilds with $(MAKE) -C $(EIGS_DIR) build (line 27) and runs $(EIG) (line 42). A plausible acceptance sequence would be smoke → build → test. That rebuild replaces the overlay's counting shim at src/eigenscript with a freshly built binary, and later tree-path calls are no longer counted or routed through the supplied candidate. Today's Tidepool acceptance command does not run build, so this is prospective, not observed in a wave.

Done when:

make -C "$EIGS_DIR" buildeither leaves the counting slot intact (for example, the shim is re-installed after each consumer step, or the build target is redirected) or makes the row refuse by name (FAIL|runtime-slot-replaced). - A self-test plant runs a stub build that overwrites
$EIGS_DIR/src/eigenscriptand shows the named outcome.
