Description

Hand test 2026-11-03 (9.4.8, Ar):

  • Boxes drawing: a fixed-size column at the bottom left of the panel with most of the panel empty; small type.
  • Decided: textbook staircase for the boxes drawing: one column per shell n (n = 1, 2, 3, 4 headings), each subshell at a height by energy order, its label to the left of its boxes, the configuration line on top; nothing overlaps; the drawing scales to the panel (box size from the space available, with a sensible maximum) and is centred.
  • Energies-to-scale drawing: the levels use only a narrow strip on the left; spread the s/p/d columns over the panel width. The core section below the axis break lists 1s above 2s above 2p, upside down: lowest energy at the bottom, as above the break. 'core levels, not to scale' runs into the axis break mark.
  • The 'pi system only' checkbox is shown for an atom: hide it, as the other molecule-only controls.
Fix goes to 9.4.9 and 9.5.0.
