Research direction

Start by reviewing the Explore tab, application cards, and Preferences/Settings entry points described in the issue. Compare the requested behavior with the implementation in Codeberg pull request 9, which is linked as resolving this issue and #487/#544. Done means release dates appear only in Explore, date grouping can be toggled, and Installed and Updates remain unchanged.

Description

Problem

Tracking application updates and releases chronologically in the "Explore" view is difficult without dates or date groupings.

Proposed solution

Implement release date badges on app cards and date grouping headers in the "Explore" tab, with an optional toggle setting in Preferences:

  • Display release/update dates on application cards in the Explore tab.
  • Group applications under clear date headers when sorted by Updated or Added.
  • Restrict dates and grouping strictly to the Explore tab to keep Installed and Updates clean.
  • Provide a dedicated toggle in Settings ("Group apps by date") so users can turn the feature on or off according to preference.
