Research direction

Find the UI component that displays the app list during initial repository sync. Locate the empty state view and replace the current thin sync bar with a Material 3 loading indicator. Ensure the indicator follows the app's Material 3 theme. The change is complete when the loading indicator is clearly visible during initial sync.

Guidelines
  • I have searched the issue tracker for open and closed issues that are similar to the feature request I want to file, without success.
  • I'm not requesting app support for a specific repo — that's up to repo maintainers
  • I understand this might not get built (Droid-ify is maintained by a single person)
Problem

I saw a new user install Droid-ify and the initial sync took a while which was not clear because the sync bar is very thin.

Proposed solution

Consider using the new Material 3 loading indicator when the app list is empty like F-Droid does on initial sync: https://m3.material.io/components/loading-indicator/overview
