Research direction

The issue names no files or entry points, so start by finding where character names are stored and displayed in the addon's Lua code. Nothing here settles where a nickname should be kept or how it should be shown, so ask the maintainer to agree on the design first. Done means a confirmed design and a nickname that appears in place of the character name without changing the stored data.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.
