Research direction

Start by tracing how the histogram_percentiles configuration is parsed and compare it with histogram_aggregates, using the linked DogStatsD configuration documentation as context. Done means an explicitly empty histogram_percentiles setting prevents percentile metrics while the configured avg and count aggregates still emit.

Description

I see I can change the config vis https://docs.datadoghq.com/developers/metrics/dogstatsd_metrics_submission/#configuration

But I’ve set histogram_percentiles to be an empty array but it is still configured (my other config setting histogram_aggregates works fine) eg

histogram_aggregates:
  - avg
  - count

histogram_percentiles:
