Research direction
Start by locating the code that determines the day/night lighting state and any related tests; the issue does not name specific files or entry points. Trace whether server time, client local time, or room or owner time zones drive the state, and check behavior on refresh and room changes. Done means a regression test shows stable lighting through an evening in America/Chicago with no flicker on room change or reload.

Description
Reported by Justin in Commons Fairground (2026-11-04 ~11:06 PM CT): the world's day/night lighting is clunky. It's night in his time zone, but the scene randomly switches to day and back.
Expected: lighting follows the viewer's local time (or one consistent world clock) and doesn't jump between day and night.
To investigate: what drives the day/night state (server time vs client local time vs per-room or per-owner time zone), whether different sources disagree (e.g. UTC date rollover around 6 PM CT), and whether refreshes or room switches reset it.
Success: a regression test showing the cycle stays stable through a full evening in America/Chicago, and no flicker on room change or reload.
