Research direction

Read docs/course-format.md (Layout) and CONTRIBUTING.md, then compare the English files under courses/en/ai-foundations/ with the structure the issue describes. Create courses/fr/index.yaml, courses/fr/themes.yaml, and courses/fr/ai-foundations/ with course.yaml and the three lessons, keeping the same ids, file names, and fixed headings such as ## Key ideas. Done when npm run check:courses passes.

Description

course help wanted

Summary

Translate the three lessons of AI Foundations into French, as the first translated course.

Why

LessonFolk is for complete beginners, and many of them do not read English. The course format supports translations (courses/fr/, same course and lesson ids), but no course has one yet.

Scope

  • courses/fr/index.yaml and courses/fr/themes.yaml (translated titles and descriptions, same theme ids)
  • courses/fr/ai-foundations/: course.yaml and the three lessons, same ids and file names as in en
  • npm run check:courses passes

What works today, and what does not

  • The tutor already teaches a translated course: the MCP tools take a lang argument and fall back to English.
  • The dashboard only reads courses/en: it will keep showing the English titles and descriptions until #202 is done.

The translation can be written and merged before #202; it is only fully visible to learners after it.

Notes

No code needed. See docs/course-format.md (Layout) and CONTRIBUTING.md. Keep the fixed section headings (## Key ideas…) as they are; the tutor relies on them.
