Research direction

Start by reading issue #66 and tracing where authProvider.request is used. Check how the v1 API versions are obtained and displayed, including the API-side version filtering; done means authProvider.request behaves as expected and the list includes the appropriate established versions rather than showing v1.2 only through include_dev.

Description

See #66. We probably need to do a similar change for proxy auth mode. edit: maybe not - let's just test that authProvider.request works as expected here too.

Also needs API-side changes to show a more reasonable set of versions - v1.2 has been around for a while now and probably isn't include_dev only.
