Research direction

Open the root package.json and inspect the cargo:check script, then locate the Rust manifest under frontend/src-tauri. Run npm run cargo:check from the repository root to reproduce the failure. Correct the script so it runs Cargo in the directory containing Cargo.toml; it is done when the command completes successfully instead of looking for a manifest in backend.

What happened?

In the root package.json, the cargo:check script is configured as:

"cargo:check": "cd backend && cargo check"

The backend/ directory is the Python FastAPI sidecar, which contains no Cargo manifest (Cargo.toml). The Rust shell (Tauri v2) is located in frontend/src-tauri/.

Running npm run cargo:check from the repository root fails:

error: could not find `Cargo.toml` in `/path/to/PictoPy/backend` or any parent directory
