The report names no file, version, platform or steps: it only says the first microphone test produced sound and the second, real recording did not. Start by reproducing the two-take flow in the Electron recorder and checking whether the audio device is released or re-acquired between the test and the recording. Done would look like a reproduced failing case plus a fix that keeps the selected mic alive across takes; ask the reporter for OS, version and whether the device changes in between before diving in.
