Start with the hidden-ancestor check in src/deps/real.ts, where live capture decides whether a node is hidden, and see how hidden, inert and aria-hidden are handled there. Then read src/providers/rulepack/live-value.ts to follow how the mutation observer records the text. Done when a dialog without open is treated as hidden in the ancestor chain, and a test shows text written just before close is not recorded as heard.

What happens
Live-region capture hears text written into a <dialog> just before the dialog closes.
Example: a Save button inside a modal dialog runs msg.textContent = 'Saved'; dialog.close(), where msg is a polite live region inside the dialog. The mutation observer runs after the task. By then the dialog is closed, so its content is out of the accessibility tree and no screen reader speaks it. The capture still records "Saved", so a required announcement can read as heard.
Expected
A dialog element without the open attribute hides its subtree. Treat it as hidden in the ancestor chain, the same way hidden, inert, and aria-hidden are treated today.
