Problem
#5241 (dependabot) moved pyan3 from 2.8.1 to 2.9.0 in ci/requirements/callgraph.in. pyan3 is the Python reference in the Graph Accuracy Audit, so its Python recall baseline moved with the reference, not with the engine. Since then the audit has failed on several PR branches (#5837, #5826, #5812), and churn workers spent runs chasing what looked like an engine regression.
Change (owner ruling 2026-10-21)
Re-baseline on 2.9.0. Do not pin back to 2.8.1, because dependabot would bump it again.
- On one engine commit, run the Python leg of the audit under pyan3 2.8.1 and under 2.9.0. The whole recall/precision delta must come from the pyan3 change: same engine, different reference.
- Update the audit's Python baseline to the 2.9.0 numbers. The PR body lists the per-shape delta and the pyan3 change behind it (changelog or the edges that moved).
- If any part of the delta is not explained by pyan3, stop and report it here instead of blessing it.
Acceptance
- The Graph Accuracy Audit passes on main and on an unrelated PR with pyan3 2.9.0.
- The PR body shows the 2.8.1 → 2.9.0 comparison on one engine commit.
