Problem Statement
Currently, the Island's horizontal swipe gesture can be configured to control either media volume or screen brightness. However, users must choose one, even though both controls are useful in different situations.
For example, when listening to music, adjusting the volume is more relevant. When no media is playing, adjusting screen brightness would be more useful.
Having to choose only one control means losing convenient access to the other.
Proposed Solution
Allow the horizontal swipe gesture to switch dynamically between volume and brightness control based on whether media is playing.
When media is playing: Horizontal swiping controls media volume.
When no media is playing: Horizontal swiping controls screen brightness.
Ideally, this behavior could be offered as an additional option in the Island settings, alongside the existing volume and brightness control modes. Users who prefer the current fixed behavior could continue using it.
