Found by differential semantic drift analysis from ece8b148 to a7721303.
What is broken
cli/common/bins.cjs L9 checks for Node.js >=20.11.0 and reports "ReScript requires Node.js >=20.11.0" (L69), while every other statement of the requirement says 22:
engines.nodeis">=22"in the rootpackage.jsonand in all fivepackages/@rescript/*/package.json(#8695);.nvmrcis22;CONTRIBUTING.mdsays v22.x or newer; CI tests "oldest supported" withnode-version: 22.
So on Node 20.11–21 the runtime check passes and users get no clear message, although the version is unsupported.
Related: #8694 and #8695, both listed in #8712; this is how the two interact, not a repeat of either.
Possible cause (speculation only)
A guess: #8694 copied the version constant from the previous bins.js while #8695 raised the requirement in parallel, and neither PR saw the other's change.
