I like @mgautierfr arguments at https://github.com/openzim/warc2zim/pull/228#discussion_r1567311274
I would suggest to :
- very significantly simplify the .gitignore on the bootstrap
- we should definitely remove the macos part
- I even think that including Python exceptions on every .gitignore of every repositories makes very little sense
- very strongly encourage users to properly setup their git configuration based on their editor
