Proposed functionality
Support an optional, committed TOML manifest for entrypoint declarations, with an explicit per-Project mode:
- UI-managed: existing declarations remain authoritative; synchronization does not replace them with manifest values.
- Repository-managed: the manifest is authoritative; synchronization reconciles declarations and manual UI or API changes are refused.
Define mode switching rather than inferring it from a file appearing or disappearing. In repository-managed mode, a missing or invalid manifest should produce an invalid candidate with clear diagnostics, leaving the last good revision active.
Reserve [dependencies] for Python requirements, with checking handled separately. Projects managed through other channels must not need a manifest.
Use case
Teams can review runnable entrypoints alongside their source and reproduce the same configuration across environments. An explicit mode avoids silently overriding declarations that operators intentionally manage in NetBox.
External dependencies
TOML parsing can use Python's standard-library tomllib. No new package or service is expected.
