Description
The VSIX smoke tests resolve the extension resource directory using two parent-directory segments:
path.resolve(__dirname, "..", "..", "resources", "extension");
At runtime, the compiled test is located under:
test/smoke/out
As a result, the current path resolves to:
test/resources/extension
Instead of the intended directory:
test/smoke/resources/extension
This is not detected because the existing tests are skipped when the resolved directory or VSIX does not exist.
Expected behavior
The smoke tests should resolve and validate VSIX files from:
test/smoke/resources/extension
Proposed fix
- Remove the extra parent-directory segment:
path.resolve(__dirname, "..", "resources", "extension");
- Ensure the smoke tests use the intended VSIX resource directory.
- Add a regression check to prevent the path from resolving to the wrong directory.
