Problem Description
When setting up the project using npm instead of yarn, the build fails because it cannot find pwsh.exe. The error message assumes the user is using yarn install.
Error Log:
Error: Unable to find pwsh.exe. It should have been made available by `yarn install`.
at findPowerShell (...\node_modules\@react-native-windows\find-dotnet-tools\lib-commonjs\findDotnetTools.js:62:11)
(Environment: Node.js v26.7.0)
Cause & Workaround:
If developers choose to use npm, pwsh.exe is not automatically made available. To resolve this, npm users must manually install PowerShell 7.
It would be helpful to update the error message or the documentation to mention that PowerShell 7 must be installed manually when using npm.
