Start by locating the code that selects button textures and builds the on-screen prompts for controller input, then trace how controller layouts are represented. Add a Switch layout option that maps prompts to the corresponding physical buttons; done means prompts show the correct Switch buttons when that layout is selected. Partly whenever using switch controllers it shows the wrong button texture which is confusing it will say to click b which on switch is a and tis very confusing.

As switch layout setting that switches the textures of the buttons told to click so instead of it telling you how to click a then it will tell you to click b.

Buying an xbox controller.
