I had a constant warning using python within spyder4 console:

DeprecationWarning: input_splitter is deprecated since IPython 7.0, prefer input_transformer_manager.

and ended up manually replacing l.454 of ipkernel.py
status, indent_spaces = self.shell.input_splitter.check_complete(code)
with
status, indent_spaces = self.shell.input_transformer_manager.check_complete(code)
to solve my problem.
