Problem

The "Initialize agentic workflow skills" section claims gh aw init creates two skill files:

This creates several files needed for agentic workflow authoring:
.github/skills/agentic-workflows/SKILL.md,
.github/skills/agentic-workflow-designer/SKILL.md,
.github/agents/agentic-workflows.md, .github/mcp.json,
.github/workflows/copilot-setup-steps.yml, and .vscode/settings.json.

There is no longer a agentic-workflow-designer skill directory. It was refactored into a static instruction file in github/gh-aw#44658 ("refactor: move agentic-workflow-designer skill to static instruction file"), shipped in gh-aw v0.82.8. The current github/gh-aw repo's own .github/skills/ directory contains no agentic-workflow-designer entry, and the live gh aw init --help (checked against the installed v0.88.4 binary, close to the latest v0.89.21 release) only documents creating:

  • the dispatcher skill at .github/skills/agentic-workflows/SKILL.md
  • (with --engine copilot) the custom agent at .github/agents/agentic-workflows.md
  • (with --engine copilot, without --no-mcp) .github/mcp.json and .github/workflows/copilot-setup-steps.yml
  • .vscode/settings.json
  • .gitattributes updates
  • optionally .github/workflows/agentics-maintenance.yml (not mentioned in the workshop step at all)

Current correct syntax

gh aw init does not create .github/skills/agentic-workflow-designer/SKILL.md. That file name should be removed from the list of generated files. The workshop should also consider mentioning .gitattributes and the conditional agentics-maintenance.yml output, matching current gh aw init --help output.

Suggested fix

Remove the .github/skills/agentic-workflow-designer/SKILL.md bullet from the file list in workshop/06-install-gh-aw.md. Related: AGENTS.md line 21 ("Copilot skill definitions for agentic-workflows and agentic-workflow-designer") also references this stale skill name and should be checked/updated in a follow-up.
