Use case
camera_avfoundation 0.11.0 was published on 2026-09-24 (flutter/packages#11774, custom video output path), and the fixes since then only ship on 0.11.x:
- 0.11.0+2: replaces the deprecated
videoOrientationwithvideoRotationAngleon iOS 17+ - 0.11.0+3: fixes a crash when switching camera while recording video
- 0.11.0+4: fixes a Swift 6 sendability mismatch in
CaptureDevice
The app-facing camera package (0.12.1, and main at the time of writing) still declares camera_avfoundation: ^0.10.2, so apps that depend on camera can't pick up these fixes. Adding camera_avfoundation: ^0.11.0+4 to an app fails to resolve:
Because camera 0.12.1 depends on camera_avfoundation ^0.10.2 and no versions of camera match >0.12.1 <0.13.0, camera ^0.12.1 requires camera_avfoundation ^0.10.2.
So, because my_app depends on both camera ^0.12.1 and camera_avfoundation ^0.11.0+4, version solving failed.
Right now the only way to get them is dependency_overrides.
Android isn't affected: the same feature shipped as camera_android_camerax 0.7.5, which camera's ^0.7.4 constraint already allows.
Steps to reproduce:
- In an app, depend on
camera: ^0.12.1andcamera_avfoundation: ^0.11.0+4. - Run
flutter pub get.
Proposal
Bump the camera_avfoundation constraint in packages/camera/camera/pubspec.yaml to ^0.11.0 (with camera_platform_interface: ^2.14.0), so camera users get the iOS fixes without overrides.
