The payload names no files or tests, so start from the radio controller code that begins .wav recording at pass start and find where recording is supposed to end. Reproduce with a pass and check whether the stop signal ever reaches the SDR++ and GQRS paths. Done means the recording closes when the pass ends for both backends, verified on a real or simulated pass. The issue has been inactive for about three years with no linked pull request, so confirm with a maintainer that the bug still exists before starting.
