Context
Part of the SEO growth initiative (#18): Phase 2: Coverage engine (guides and internal linking).
Guides are the biggest coverage lever: how-to content ranks for informational queries and funnels readers into the tools. This is the foundation the guide articles depend on.
What to do
- Add a typed guides registry (mirroring
lib/tools.ts) and routes underapp/guides/. - Reuse the existing patterns: metadata via a helper like
lib/toolMetadata.ts, structured data vialib/jsonLd.ts(addArticle/HowTo+BreadcrumbList), and per-guide OG images vialib/og.tsx. - Extend
app/sitemap.tsto include guides. - Ship a guides index page and update the README "Add a" docs.
Where
New: lib/guides.ts, app/guides/. Extend: lib/jsonLd.ts, app/sitemap.ts, lib/og.tsx, lib/toolMetadata.ts (or a sibling). Follow the single-registry approach in lib/tools.ts.
Acceptance criteria
- A sample guide renders with correct metadata, JSON-LD, OG image, and appears in the sitemap
