Tracking the finding that was folded into #2002 so it is not lost when #2002 closes (#2010 fixes the workflow gap that issue is about).
What breaks
docs/events/index.md lists KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2026 (November 9-12, 2026, Salt Lake City) under "## Upcoming". tests/events-page.test.mjs asserts that no event under "Upcoming" has already ended and that the section names at least one dated event. From 2026-11-13 the first assertion fails, and simply moving the entry to "## Past" would then fail the second.
Because docs/events/index.md is a data-backed document, a PR that touches it takes the full validation path, so this failure will surface in every PR's "Validate repository" check from that date, not only in events-page changes.
What is needed from a maintainer
The next End User event's name, dates, location and official link, verified against events.linuxfoundation.org or a cncf.io announcement. An agent cannot source these facts (AGENTS.md: never assert facts without a source), so this is human-owned.
Once the facts are known, the change is:
- Move the KubeCon NA 2026 entry (and its talk and summit links, once archived) under "## Past".
- Add the next event under "## Upcoming" with a bold dateline in the existing
**Month D-D, YYYY · City.**form and refresh the "Last verified" date. - Run
node --test tests/events-page.test.mjs.
