The failing assertion is at line 2316 of crates/lib/src/bootc_composefs/boot.rs, inside test_grub_bls_abs_entries_path, which expects "/" but gets "/boot". Read the test and the GRUB/BLS entries path logic it exercises, then run cargo test -p bootc-lib --lib test_grub_bls_abs_entries_path locally. Done when that test passes and the downstream c9s and c10s builds no longer fail.
