描述
This issue is opened as a tracker for a license clarification added in #3299.
zstd-sys 2.0 is declared as MIT/Apache-2.0, however this only covers its Rust wrapper. The crate itself distributes generated bindings licensed under BSD-3-Clause as well as C source code licensed under GPL-2.0-only OR BSD-3-Clause.
We're transitively using zstd-sys 2.0 at the moment given we're pinned to zstd 0.13 with our Apache Avro dependency. arrow-rs 60 already uses zstd 0.14 so #3257 should provide the right dependency graph, such that the clarification is no longer necessary.
When this workspace start adopting zstd-sys 2.1, we can eliminate the clarification for zstd-sys as all three portions of its distributed source code will be covered under the same license (BSD-3-Clause).
