描述
The problem today
The chat window on a customer's website is a fixed width (about 380 pixels). On phones narrower than that, part of the window hangs off the edge of the screen and visitors can't reach the send button or close button.
What to change
On small screens (phone width), the chat window should fill the screen with no horizontal overflow. On larger screens nothing changes. The change lives in the small embed script (public/widget.js) and the widget page styles.
Done when
- At 375 pixels wide the window fits the screen: nothing is cut off, and the close button, message list and send box are all reachable
- On desktop the window looks exactly as it does today
- Open and close still work on phone and desktop, and the page behind doesn't scroll sideways
- A test or screenshot check covers the phone-width case
