Apps that bundle OpenCode often have their own settings file in the repository, like .acme/settings.json. It would help if teams could put OpenCode config in that file too, instead of adding an opencode.json beside it.
Right now the project names (opencode.json, opencode.jsonc, .opencode/) are fixed in config/discovery.ts, and no option or plugin hook can add another one.
Proposal: a projectFile config option, set from an OPENCODE_CONFIG_PROJECT_FILE env var, naming one relative path such as .acme/settings.json. OpenCode reads it in every folder of the project walk, just below that folder's opencode.json. It ranks like project config, editing it reloads config, and keys OpenCode doesn't know are ignored, as they are today.
I have it working, with a test and a docs row, in about a dozen lines: https://github.com/paulsf-cohere/opencode/commit/8b696631d1. Happy to open the PR if the approach looks good.
