Summary

The index.json format shown in the Catalogs section of the OpenCode v2 Skills docs does not match the agent-skills-discovery-rfc 0.2.0 format.

OpenCode’s current example uses a skills array where each entry contains name, version, and files. The RFC 0.2.0 example uses a top-level $schema field and per-skill fields such as type, description, url, and digest.

This divergence may affect:

  • skill catalog interoperability
  • discovery and resolution logic
  • content integrity verification
  • compatibility with agents that follow the RFC

The Catalogs documentation should either:

  1. align with the agent-skills-discovery-rfc 0.2.0 index.json schema, or
  2. explicitly document that OpenCode uses a different catalog format, including versioning, migration guidance, and compatibility expectations.

Actual behavior

The Catalogs section currently documents an index.json format that differs from the RFC 0.2.0 schema.
