Reproduce the failure using the shown configuration with the Amazonia Brazil study, first confirming the 500 on the live site. Trace the backend faceting path for the variable with no actual No cases. Done means this 2x2 faceting configuration no longer returns a 500 and handles the empty category case correctly.

While working on and testing https://github.com/VEuPathDB/web-eda/issues/1575, I noticed that faceting often resulted in a 500. This happens on the live site, not just my dev site with recent backend changes.
To replicate, use the following config w/ the Amazonia Brazil study:

the first is a backend bug. apparently there are no actual cases of 'No' values for one of the vars and its breaking things. mind putting together a ticket?
