The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by reading the existing database-driver and registry implementations, then compare the DRDA and Db2 CLI options for Db2 LUW. Done means Db2 connections can be configured with host, port, database, user, and SSL, and the sidebar exposes schemas, tables, views, procedures, and sequences; Db2 for i is conditional on the same path supporting it.

Problem
Db2 is not supported. Requested in #1638.
Proposed solution
A registry plugin covering Db2 LUW first, and Db2 for i if the same path reaches it, built one of two ways:
- A DRDA client written in Swift in a TableProCore product, the way
TableProTeradataCoreimplements Teradata's protocol (#1888). Nothing from the vendor to ship. - Or the Db2 CLI driver behind a bridge in
apple/Native/, the shape the Dameng and SAP HANA plugins use.
Either way:
- Host, port, database, user and SSL on the connection form.
- Schemas, tables, views, procedures and sequences in the sidebar.
Alternatives considered
