enhancement help wanted

Windows isn't a supported or tested platform at this time, so I'm consolidating all Windows-related issues here.

I don't have easy access to a Windows development environment, which makes it difficult for me to reproduce, debug, or fix Windows-specific issues. If you're a Windows user who'd like to see this project work on your platform, I'd really welcome contributions!

If you'd like to see Windows support, please give this issue a 👍 so we can gauge demand.

How you can help:
  • Test the project on Windows and report specific issues in this thread
  • Submit PRs with fixes for Windows compatibility
  • Help review and test other Windows-related PRs

I'm happy to review and merge PRs that add Windows support - I just can't drive that effort myself. Thanks for understanding, and thank you in advance to anyone who contributes!
