Hi everyone ! I am having trouble with The CUPS Server concerning my HP Envy 4512 All-in- One Printer.
Back in February of this year, 2026, I switched from Windows to Linux Mint Cinnamon 22.2.
I was Very surprised to see a immediate pop-up after Linux installation , that my Printer was recognized and
was ready to Print.
It is October of the same year and I went to print an Email and got nothing from the Printer. I got this instead,
There was an Error in printing The Document.
So, I tried to Print a Text Document from the Computer, and got the same result.
There was a Troubleshoot Button in the Error Message, Clicked It, Followed the "Forward" Prompts, which
lead me to this,
Server Not Exporting Printers
Although one or more Printers are Marked as being Shared, this Print Server is Not Exporting Shared
Printers To The Network.
Enable the 'Publish shared Printers connected to this system' option in the Server Settings.
So, I knew where to navigate to get to the Printer Server Tab, but when I selected the
'Publish shared Printers connected to this system' option in the Server Settings. and Clicked OK,
I got this, THERE WAS AN ERROR DURING CUPS OPERATION: 'FAILED TO SET SETTINGS'.
Anybody Know how fix this ?
I've tried Restarting both the Printer and the Computer. But of course, this is a Server Error. I just thought I'd try it.
Of course no success.
I am on the CUPS website but do not see anything specific to my situation. Thus I am here hoping someone
knows what I need to do on the CUPS site to fix this.
