Found by the builder on #1364.
tests/test_lsp_asan.sh builds with make lsp CFLAGS=.... CFLAGS is not a make dependency, so when src/eigenlsp is newer than its sources, nothing is rebuilt. The "ASan" run then exercises the RELEASE binary and prints green. Its closing "rebuild normal" step is a no-op after a real ASan build, so it leaves the 29 MB instrumented binary in place of the release one. Both happened on 2026-09-28.
Done when
- The harness builds the ASan eigenlsp into its own output path (or forces the rebuild), and fails unless the binary it runs is instrumented. For example, check for
__asan_initinnmoutput, or for the ASan runtime inldd. - Planted once: a stale release
src/eigenlspnewer than the sources makes the harness red, not green. - After the harness finishes,
src/eigenlspis the release build again (or the harness never touches it).
